I lucked out and found somebody with a NIB Lightning Audio Storm X1.12.VC2. It showed up yesterday, and made the trip without a scratch. What surprised me about this one is that instead of the typical X1 that bolts together from the inside, this one has allen bolts on the outside. I guess it must have been a transition model before the X2.

Now all I've got to do is get a box, and an amp big enough to drive this, and a new head unit, and...

It just never ends, does it?

I got a good enough deal, considering how hard these are to come by. This was the first new one I'd found ( I 'd been looking for a while), so I jumped.

If somebody wants to try the 10" version, my new one's for sale on the board. The 10's were easy to buy about 6 months ago, now they're practically extinct new. Mine's only been out of the box for inspection and pics.
