They might have blown them to have them reconed with different voice coils...I didn't see the video, but often times, if you want a different impedance config, you simply blow the old ones and replace the soft parts.

Find out the whole story before you judge...

Yep, the guy said that skinny white guy in the passenger seat was tommyk90. I recognized the name too.
