I have a Sony head unit, and under my EQ settings I have these options but I do not know what they mean.

On the left side I have -16K, -6.3K, -2.5K, -1K, 1K, 2.5K, 6.3K, 16K........

What do these mean?

On the right side it goes from -10 to 10

ex: 6.3K : 8

What does all this mean and what does it change exactly?

I dont have that deck but what it looks like is what frequency on the left side is what you are adjusting and on the right side is the level you are adjusting. say you pick 1K and adjust it up or down, That freq is going plus or minus what ever you pick.

well i can set both the left and right so i can have

2.5K : 3 or 2.5K : 10 or 2.5K : -8 i can set the right to anything on the left...

oh yeah i was wrong.....the left goes from 62, 157, 396, 1K, 2.5K, 6.3K, 16K

set them all to 0 for flat response...

but for your information , the lower numbers like 67 represent lows/bass, while the higher numbers like 16k are the highs...

the numbers that go from -8 to +8 are how much you want to boost this specific frequency...

Using your example

6.3K : 8

The 6.3 k is the frequency center your gonna boost or cut . The 8 represnets how many db up ( in this case ) or down you are boosting or cutting that frequency . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
