what does it mean when it says ipod searching?

a yes i just recently got a alpine 9886 and the ipod worked great but today i turned it on and the ipod says its searching? it is hooked up and all but the ipod has controls? what is wrong with it? when i first got it and hooked it up it reads it and locks out the ipod? any help please

try reseting the iPod. disconnect and re-connect. if that doesnt work... idk

You may have to update the ipod software.

is it an ipod touch?....if so disconnect it from the HU and then turn the ipod off...dnt put it to sleep youahve to turnit all the way off then wait a few secs and turn it back on and wait til it loads then try it.....i have to do this ever so often on my DEH-p4000ub.
