What does he need for electrical?

Buddy of mine is driving around a old Ford suv (around 99 00) and bought it from a friend with i think 2 12"s, running an 800 watt amp with i think a 200-400watt amp for his highs.

he saying he sees his voltage dropping constantly.

what does he need for electrical? new battery under hood? battery in rear? capacitor? he's not lookin to drop $400 on a h/o alternator...so its basically battery or cap...whats good for something in the 1000watt range total?

he's going to do that, going from 8 gauge apparently to 4. told him to go 1/0, but dont know how receptive to that he was...

this is just something for a friend whos pretty inexp. with car audio...so i dont know TOO much about his situation, just tryin to help him with his power issue.

anything higher up then 8 awg or stock is better
