What does DC Power Alternator's Blue wire do?

Just got my DC Power alternator hooked up but cant figure out what this blue wire is. It looks like a ground wire to the engine but i wasn't 100% sure. Does anyone know?

It is supposed to be on the alt charging post its a voltage sense wire

So i just hook it to the positive on the alt? It wont hurt anything if i leave it off will it, i drove on it yesterday and everything acted normal other then the battery light comming on

Supposedly put blue wire on the charging post of alt it will turn battery light off.

Do what you want but its supposed to be on the charging post
