And ken, you're really going to have to expand that post if you want some help. It doesn't even make sense. How does a cone affect a sub? Well...it wouldn't be what's called a direct radiator if not. All that means is that whatever is moving is what's producing all the sound directly. This means that planar, electrostatics, tactile transducers and fan-based speakers don't count.

I think what he wants to know what it does to a sub.

The cone material can effect the FS of a sub. In SPL applications cone strength is important as to not fold the cone on a multi kw burp

The cone material affects quite a bit more than the Fs.
