What do you use to cover/paint your boxes?

if you paint it make sure you get rid of any imperfections as the paint will make them really show, i personally like carpet though, fan of the stock look as well.

Anyone have a picture of a box with bedliner?
There are a couple people that have done it...forgot where though. Lol. It looks decent as long as you dont mind scaping the pss out of yourself putting it in.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

carpet is the best IMO. i used suede though. it looks and feels great but its hard to work with. if you use suede definitely make your box to use end caps. would've made it worlds easier

also, make sure you counter sink and sand the imperfections. maybe round off the edges with a sander a little bit. just so its not a "sharp edge". thats what i did and IMO it looks great.

Here is a shot of the bed liner. I suggest getting the can not the spray but the roll can. I have heard it is easier and turns out better. Sorry for the bad pic I would give you another one but I sold that set up. I am getting ready to build another box for 1 15" and rhino line it, I'll post up pics when done. Granted the box does not look perfect but not to shabby for my first attempt

did you sanded the box before aplyin the paint?

well i went out and bought a can of bedliner, sprayed the box, looks better than just bare mdf, nothing special, but that's just my spraying skills and patience.

if i get a chance to take pictures i will.

I'll get pics of my box tomorrow and my amp rack

I got a gallon of color matched paint to my interior and than I mixed in some texture with it. Primed the box first, and the thing turned out badass...never seen anyone do it either before like it.

that bed liner is actually not a bad idea. Also I was thinking of doing a type of textured paint for my box (to match the interior plastics of my vw)

I built this box like two or three years ago and I still haven't put any finishing on it haha

I did a light sand job just to scuff up the wood. I didn't really take the time to make the box look perfect as I was impatient. I must also say I am terrible at cutting wood, and I used a skill saw. For the next box I am planning on using a table saw to make clean cuts, and have a better outcome. But still I was very happy, and so was the guy I sold the set up to.

heres some pics as I stated...used like 4 cans of spray primer....shot the port with black, and the rest is color matched paint with texture mixed in...amp rack was done the same way
