What do you think the chances are of an Obama/Clinton ticket in 08

the democrats want to nanny everyone. "free" healthcare. massive social programs. lax border policy. border line ***** foreign policy. their ridiculous strive towards political correctness. as a working white man, i'm already broke, and they'll need more of our money to fund all the programs they will implement. one of my biggest problems with the dems is that they feel they need to take care of everyone instead of making people take care of themselves. laziness and lack of drive is the biggest problem in our american culture. the dems will make it worse. it's almost an insult that they don't think we can take care of ourselves without their help.
Ok lets start with massive social programs. Who created the largest expansion of a social program in decades? What party did he come from? What president signed the welfare reform act into law effectively ending the American welfare state as an entitlement program? What party was he from?

Let's think about liberal foreign policy. Who supported the administration in their war with Iraq? What female presidential candidate recently supported the administration's call to label the Iranian Guard as terrorists? What has been her position in regards to the war in Iraq and her major weakness in the eyes of her party as a candidate?

I disagree with alot of the massive social programs that the dems are pushing.

-Really do not like the nation wide healthcare program, being that this will unfairly punish the middle class who has fought tooth and nail to get things like health care and is making it along just fine. Believe me over the last decade my family has fought up from my dad working at a churches chicken and my mom unemployed (due to the fall of oil in the late 80s both were employed by overseas oil exploration companies) To where they are now both making 95-100k a year (which is fairly decent in louisiana where the average 2000sq foot house in my town goes for about 60-80k...to give you an Idea of property value) They had no federal aid and basically made everything they have now on their own, I grew up in a middle class household and had friends on welfare that had it better than me...and thats not a lie.

-I am anit war though...In the begining I was all for it until it turned into a clusterf@ck over oil.

-Pro Death penalty. I do understand that it may punish the family of the accused but if you have ever had a family member brutally ***** and murdered by someone, your tune would change.

-Im pretty lax on gun control...we seem to have it just about right, 21 for handguns, background checks, 18 for rifles and shotguns. I do believe you should have to be 21 to purchase an assault rifle. And of course I am anti automatic weapons.

-Anti abortion. A family member of mine had one, said it was the worst mistake of her life, and she herself is anti abortion. If you are an adult enough to make a baby, you should be an adult and have the baby and then offer it up for adoption.

-Pro stem Cell research. I feel as if this could cure many of todays incureable diseases. I know this kind of goes against my stance on abortion...but an embryo is not a human life in my idea. Also for the sake of saving millions of lives I feel as though these are sacrafices we need to make.

-Pro Drilling in ANWR. We need to become self sufficient as a nation and need to get as far away from the middle east as possible. They already drill my area of the country full of holes (listens to natural gas compressor in the background) The impact would be minimal and would vastly progress our nation as an independent nation.

These are merely my political views, not forcing them on anyone so don't comment as such, just stating them for the sake of conversation. I haven't decided on who I will vote for yet, as I currently haven't seen a candidate that I feel is ready to lead my country.

one class can never be right b/c u are bound by class beliefs and not one has it right
For such an unclear, thrown together, erratic statement, you actually made some sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Faulkton, don't bother -- you can't explain quantum mechanics to a *****.

i do not think that we are bound by class values. To think so implies that human beings are static creatures and social mobility isn't a real phenomena.

loL.

that's pretty selective faulkton. are you saying that the democrats don't propose/support large government programs? they do, at least in relativity to the repubs, who spend the same amount in different areas to be sure. never looked at those $ numbers. that may be interesting. i wasn't speaking specifically about hillary either, i was speaking about the party as a whole. her health care program proposal would be massive. being that the bush administration went to war with her support, it's hard for her to flip flop now. even though she has tried. her husband's intelligence on iraq also played a role.

and im sure your tune would change if you had a family member who was wrongly convicted under the death penalty

Sometimes I seem to think that we are bound by what we inherit, or what we are taught, specifically when it comes to decisions in our daily lives, and furthermore social issue decisions and how we think politically. It's almost like it's a gene that we have which has some sort of capability of inept ignorance for other views.
Some can be open to other's ideas, some can't. Whether this is nature vs. nurture is up for debate.

I think scientifically, you think sociologically //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Absolutely true. If my best friend was the one who committed a terrible hate crime and had to be put to death because of it, I'd be opposed.
If a random person committed a terrible hate crime against my best friend, I'd be pro-DP.

Personal interest FTW.

edit: pro-death penalty, not pro double penetration //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

it's both. it can't be all scientific or social.
