What do you think of this 4ch?

Very nice amp. I called Zapco a while ago about the way you actually tune these amps. Basically what he said was you have to take the amp to an authorized dealer to have it tuned, then I said what about the software? They said only dealers get it. Then I promptly hung up. I seen people selling these with the disc, but what real benifit does pc based tuning REALLY give, seems like too much of a hassle.

get an older soundstream amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

That's what i'm doing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif screw my Helix amp (anybody want it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif )

Screw that ebay listing! If you look there are two of the exact amps for sale by 2 different sellers, who both have 0 feedback, both have been members since 06, and both are from India...HHMMMMMM.

I tuned the ones I had myself. (360.4 and 500.1) The guys on the Zapco forum even helped me with my questions. And the amps came with the software. If you look at the review section, you will see my review on these amps. I dont really think having the processor in the amp is really a necessary thing. Its kinda cool, but my alpine has all the adjustments I need. I was more pointing toward the 1000.4, you can get the reference 1000.4 and it has no processing in it.

I was just using the listing as reference. Dont buy it from ebay. If you dont have an authorized dealer nearby, they have it at woofersetc.com
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2379

I know you were using it as a reference, but wow that has got to be a scammer!

Anyway I just looked at woofersetc for the Reference 1000.4. $699.99 is a little more than I want to spend, but then again I never owned any Zapco or other very high end amps, Mostly JL, PPI, Alpine, Rockford, Memphis, Sundown etc...How much better do Zapcos really sound?

edit: I just read your review...sounds good.

best way to find out, is to buy a used one off ebay (like an AG350) you can pick em up for a little over $100.

I feel like they are the best sounding amps that I have heard. Is there a night and day difference from other amps? No, but they have a depth and detail that will make your components perform to there potential. You will hear a difference after about a half hour audition, you will hear stuff in your music that you just couldnt pick out before.

All the amps that you listed as having used, like JL PPI Alpine, Rockford and Sundown are good amps and have great SQ. But you will hear a difference.
