what do you think of the fantom face units

I had the 7897 for about 2 years with no problems whatsoever...ran the 7998 for about ~8 months IIRC with no problems as well.

I have the original alpine cda 7969 fanton unit...still works very good.

I had the alpine cda 7998...never had a problem..

How does the 7998 perform in terms of sq over the 9835? 9835 still going to stomp it's face in?

I had a 7897 prior to my 7998... I picked up a JL 450/4 and figured I'd make the move to an un-amplified head unit. The difference was worth my time/effort/money.

I'd get the 7998 hands down... I wouldn't care if it was 150 dollars to repair it if it breaks... I'd gladly pay it. It's funny because friends come home with big DVD systems... and I don't even have a hint of jealousy. I wouldn't trade my deck for anything.

no i mean darker color, there just as bright but the colors arent as deep as that they look like they're diluted with water your look so vivid

nah i think the 7998 goes up and beyond the 9835

The fact that the 7998 and say the 7995 have no internal amp hint at how serious sound quality is on them. The 7998 is an audiophiles dream.

I just got my 7995 for my girlfriends car yesterday! Will put it in on the weekend. She only has 2 speakers and a sub right now... haha, we'll see how good it is capable of sounding without rear fill! I just wanted her to have time correction to bring the base up closer to you.
