What do you think? And what would you pay?

Alright, well ive been trying to find a super cheap beater vehicle that i can just drive around so i dont have to use my truck all the time, and a friend of mine is unloading one pretty cheap, so my question is what do you think first of all, and secondly what would you pay?

I wish i had a pic, but i dont so ill describe it a tad.

1993 Nissan Altima

No inspection, doesnt drive at this point and wont pass due to tires being too worn, i also believe it wont run because of the alt. and/or battery. And probably some other various problems that i have no idea about. But nissans are usually good cars and this car just recently started haveing problems with dying, etc. If thats all thats wrong with it then its a fairly cheap fix.

Also is has 180K on the clock, paint is in poor condition, dings/scratches, paint fading, etc etc. Basically your run of the mill beater car, interior has burn holes in it, stains, etc.

At this point she is asking 500. I MIGHT be able to offer ~ 400 and she would take it, but i dont know, i told her i would consider it. I mean scrap metal i could get atleast 300 for it, so i think 400 would be fair,

so what do you guys think?

ive got a freind with a 98 and there nice dependable cars. much better gas mileage than that explorer for shure!

But it would also stop me from putting so many miles on the ex, and open it up for a show/comp vehicle which is what i wanted to do with it in the first place.

if its gonna need tires,battery, alternator, tags, title, insurance your lookin at what 400-500 bucks at least there to get started. so in actuality(sp?) your gonna have a 1k beater..your not gonna get much of a car for 400 bucks,and like you said you can probably start pulling parts and then scrap it and easily get ur money back..

what kind of work do you do? if you dont have to look all fancy for work, get a cheap motorcycle. The weather in texas is perfect for a bike, plus you get killer mileage.
