SEXYTIME!! NIIICE!
So, what is your take on whats going on with the US, the UN, and Iraq? Should we invade them or just leave them alone? Do we have just cause to go into Iraq? I'm just curious and wanted to spark a real debate...something different than all these rice threads...but heres my 0.02
The main reasons that Bush wants to invade for are (1) the fact that they have not allowed UN weapons inspectors inside their bases to check out thier 'weapons of mass destruction' and (2) the fact that they are responsible for harboring terrorists and using terrorist acts against people in their own country. I guess you could justify an attack by saying that they violated the Persian Gulf Treaty at the end of Desert Storm which states that the Iraqui regime may not keep, maintain, or produce weapons of mass destruction. According to Bush and many UN nations, they have clearly violated this treaty and should be punnished accordingly. In Bush's speech a few days ago he clearly stated that an American attack would not occur as long as Sadam Hussein agreed to comply with the UN's, and the treaty's demands. You can take that statement for what its worth, but I think there is a hidden agenda behind all of this, possibly the oil industry. What I'm saying, aside from the Persian Gulf Treaty, is that if we were going to invade a country based on their capability of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons, we might as well go into Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, Pakistan, etc at the same time. Hell, we might as well invade our own country.
Personally I dont think that we sould invade Iraq based on the fact that they are not the only country that poses a threat to the U.S. What have they honestly done to personally point a finger at the U.S. and say "We are coming to kick your ***!"...enough for us to single them out?
I think that Iraq IS a threat to our country, just like every single other country in the middle east, and just like most other countries in the world, but I dont think that singling them out and attacking just them would be the right thing to do at this moment. All it would do is spark more terrorist actions toward us, and everyone here, even George Bush, knows that we don't need that at all.
However, if Iraq wants to play hardball and throw the first punch, I say we kick their ***.
