I am curious if the folks in the middle east of those times considered themselves different race. For instance, Ancient Rome enslaved half the known world. I am sure some of those folks were of a different race. Albeit they weren't enslaved because of race, they were overthrown.
I don't think that falls under the category of racism. Racism, by definition is discrimination or prejudice based on race. By being overpowered by the Roman Empire, they were enslaved as "Prisoners of War" so to speak. Now, only enslaving a particluar race after taking over is a different story.

Nope, racism was created by white people in the south, racism continues to this day, and we see it even with this current immigrant problem with the mexicans.
Amazing how you make your own race look even more ignorant and close-minded w/replies like that.

That's exactly what "whitey" expects to hear from you, and you indulge him quid pro quo with a response like that...

Thats fine. White people can expect whatever they want. You are the one that is ignorant.

The fact is, this thread is going to go on for hundreds of pages and regardless of any supporting historical evidence, some people are going to stick with "white people in the south created racism".

The ironic part is that by being closed minded and simply continuing to preach what was taught to you, correct or not, is the same mentality that has propelled racism into this century. I am willing to contend that most "racist" people do so because that is what they grew up knowing, and have no hard line reason for supporting it. My grand parents taught my parents, my parents taught me, and now I am going to teach my children. It is an ongoing stretch of ignorance.

by white people period.
Wasnt the spanish in america first. Of course it wasnt america then. The Anasazi in the four corners area made refrence to interacting with them. Of course this interaction entailed killing as many Anasazi as they could. They were close to the same color but not race. I guess they was from the south though. Like way south.

So if white peopel started the closemindedness, its wrong for me to be this same way? Sounds like you are being a hypocritical racist yourself.

My first post said white people. the second post said in the south because thats where he was taking it, I was trying to switch the subject from worldwide to america.
Understood, but to limit the origins of racism to America is denying thousands of years of history in which racism was prevelant. Most races have been discriminated against at some point in history at some point in the world.

If you are going to continually support that white people and white people alone created racism, you will need some proof to support what is now a baseless claim.

And yes it is wrong for you to be this same way. Why? Because it 2006 and you know better. Two wrongs never make a right.
