Used to have a box that was 2.5 cubes per side before subs were installed (it was divided) i had a round port 4in x 10 in. Long. Subs were fosgate punch 1412 (single 4 ohm 12 inch) they were in a trunk of a 84 pontiac grand prix. I now have 2 sundown sa12's in a mercury mountaineer, im looking for something close to the tuning of the grand prix. Thanks in advance.

if it was just a straight round 4 inch port with no flare, 10" long it would be tuned to around 33 hz according to my calculations.

Hmm. The box i have now is tuned to 32. it sounds quite a bit different. It seems to hit low very well but higher like bass guitars and such not so well at all. Maybe thats the difference in subs?

Where should these be tuned to sound good all around? I listen to rock mostly but occasionally listen to rap / hip hop. Should i go sealed? If so how much output would i lose? Thanks
