What causes a coil to get like this?

Ive heard 3 things that could have happened

1. Coil was to big

2. clipping

3. over excursion

OK Well the sub was bought brand new.

That's deffinatly rubbed off so I would say either the motor shifted or coil is oversized?

Looks like it was just shifted a little and rubbed. Coil looks a little dark as well, but some come dark like that, so who knows.

Have you ever seen a parking space and thing "Thats so small how am I going to fit in there" but then you fold in the mirrors and slide in? yea its kinda like that.

If it don't fit force it.If it breaks then it needed replaced anyway

Well this happened to all of them. Should I take it up with who I got it from and told them they sold me bad subs?
