So There is a slight gap between the fiberglass walls of the boat and the box.

As you can see on each side (left and right). It is about 1" at the top, and get a bit thinner on the way down.

I am looking for something which i can attach to the side of the box, and then carpet over as the box will be carpeted in grey carpet to match the rest of the boat.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking the foam that they use for making cushions could work, but it might be too soft or absorb too much water.

What about sound deadening material layer to the thickness?

Any other suggestions?

was it just like the foam used in car / boat seats?

I spoke with the guys at the upholstery shop and they could cut me 2 sections, 1 for each side. I could then glue it to the sides of the box, then carpet over them. Might be the easiest and cheapest way.

thats what she said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

try putting expanding foam (about half of what the gap is) in a trash bag in between there to get a decent start shape and use body filler to fix it up, and wrap in in some fleece or carpet. just be careful with the foam, if you dont watch it carefully and guide it some, it could crack the box or the boat.

I would have no clue how to fiberglass something like that. I like the idea of foam cause it cane squish and conform to the space.

yea, cracking the boat would be NOT so good haha...

I thought about the expanding foam... still not sure.

It's in an area that you dont really stand by / or walk by. I would like some kind of grill, but not sure what i could use... I did see some nice U metal ones ona JL W7 box in a boat, but i wouldnt know where to get one... any clue what kind of grill could work for the excursion on these subs?

what about some super stiff stryroform like the stuff that tvs come with, then hit it with some epoxy or something
Styrofoam doesnt mix well with any kind of chemical.

I think the cheapest way to do it is with a piece of mdf, you only need to cover the top of the gap right?
