Hey guys,
Im having a little problem with tuning the settings on my system to get it playing the way Id like. I have a pretty large mono amp powering (4) 12" subs in a ported box. I then have a 4-ch Soundstream Rubicon 604 powering the 6x9's in the rear and 3-way CDT's in kickpods/door up front. Now, I can only put my Pioneer deck up to volume 35 out of 62, when the clip lights on the Soundstream amp start to go on. I wanna be able to put my subs up higher than that, but I cant coz Im scared of damaging the componants or 6x9's. I put te EQ on the deck to Vocal and I put my deck settings to eliminate the bass going to the front and rear speakers. The mono amp is connected to "subwoofer out" on the deck. I also set the filters on the Soundstream amp so no bass is going to the speakers. Even by eliminating almost all the bass to the speakers, the clip light on the amp STILL goes on at volume 35 or so. The mono/subs amp can easily go up on deck volume, but not sure of the speakers. I WOULD like to be able to have a bit of bass in the speakers at least up front in the doors/pods. Im playing around with the fader on the deck too.
Any thoughts why the amp would clip even with no low frequencies going to the speakers?
Thanks!
