What can cause a 15db 50hz spike?

He listed as sealed. Your box is your problem. Try testing just the box outside your vehicle and you will still see a natural peak in that area combined with vehicle peak at around 50 hz causing such a huge spike. You will either need to build a ported box to create a spike around 30Hz to offset the vehicle spike at 50 or find a different sub that performs better sealed on the 30Hz area and still eq a lot.

yup funny how a lot of people always equate sealed with sound quality. Clearly not the case here.
