What Can Be Done?

My current setup is as follows:

- Single 12" Kicker CVR

- Kicker sealed prefab box

- Profile AP1000M amp (says 500 RMS @ 2 Ohms, most likely less)

I feel I am lagging in the bass department. At first my 12" Kicker CVR in the Kicker prefab was great. But that was coming from nothing. Now I want to get louder, but still sounding decent. I want people to say "Holy **** that's loud! It hurts my ears!" What can be done?

Option 1- Custom Box

I can build a larger, ported box and hope for the best.

Option 2- New Amp

I can get an amp that does rated power. However, I am not sure how much power a Kicker CVR can take daily without blowing.

Get a single 12" Mach 5 Audio Maw-12 or even a Maw-15 with the price they go for, build a custom, ported box, and use current amp. This would be the most expensive option and is last on the list.

So what do you suggest I try first?

not sure if a mach 5 sub will get as loud as those kickers. will sound nice though coming from a maw 15 owner. i say build a new box first and see if that does it for you. if not you are only out a couple bucks.

I say build a ported box now, and save on amp and woofer, you may not need it once you get a good enclosure.

yeah, a new box would be the cheapest and it would probably make the most difference.
