What Caliber and Brand of Pistol do you prefer

I really like my XDm .40, +P+ ready and 16+1 as a .40cal.

Its a little expensive to just go out and shoot it as a .40cal, so I got a 9mm conversion barrel and 14lbs recoil spring. Now plunking cost ~1/2 as much. 19+1 as a 9mm, you can use the .40cal mags w/ 9mm and it was only $180 for the conversion. Great gun, fits my hand well w/ the small grip in place (comes w/ 3 changeable grips).

Keep the trey pound on my hip... the duece duece in my belt and twin dessies popping off
Speak ENGRISH?

To the OP, too vague of a question. But for general pistol(less than 25yds.) .45 ACP. Medium range - Thompson Contender equipped w/.444 Marlin. Long range - Thompson Contender equipped w/.223 or .243 and Nikon Scope.

As for semis, I REALLY enjoyed shooting my friends XDm-.40. I prefer the grip of the XD over the glock as well. The recoil also feels just a tad bit lighter on the XD to me. This will be my first purchase for a personal defense firearm.

For revolvers, I friggin LOVE my dad's Ruger GP-100 .357.

im shopping as we speak for my first hand gun - prolly get a .45....Tomorrow I head to the gun range

to test about 10 guns by appt as well as taking a class in learning how to better shoot, safety etc...

Too many morons out there own guns and don't have a clue how to handle them and or how to be ready to use it....

Looking at Ruger P345 as well as a few others,so many choices kinda like trying to pick out a subwoofer

the endless variations and brands - Being my first gun I dont wanna bust the bank

I have a S&W .40 thats pretty nice, and a Colt .22 pistol. I had always wanted to get a Glock, but being here in Mass I can't buy one without having a special concealed carry license, and to get one of those I have to already own that gun. Pretty messed up IMO. In Mass you're only allowed to carry and conceal the gun that is listed on your license, and the serial numbers have to match or you lose your license. Not to mention the 8 hour State Police tests your required to take anytime you want to move up to to higher class license. One of these days I'll move up to NH and buy whatever I want.

I own a Kimber 1911 .45, Glock .40, H&K .40 (work gun), and Ruger .44 mag. 40 cal is the way to go--has stopping power and not much more than 9mm for ammo. My favorite pistols on the market right now are the springfield XD's. I would take one over my Glock any day. They shoot nice and aren't very pricey. Durable as a glock too.
