i need to know which bass blockers i need for my 4.5 door speakers, they are already in the car so i don't know what model they are but i know they aren't real expensive ones. here are the two i am looking at.

PBASS3 (yellow) 5-1/4" blocks 0-800hz 0-400hz

PBASS4 (orange) 4" blocks 0-1.2khz 0-600hz

thanks.

Those sound a little high in frequency. Your speakers will sound pretty lame.

All you need is a 200 uf Non-polarized Capacitor like this:

Wire it between the positive speaker wire... for a pair of speakers, you'll need two.... one for the left channel, one for the right.

Might be able to pick them up locally at an electronics parts supply store.

I'd get the PBASS1 0-300hz if you have to.

But I'd rather see a crossover point of between 120 - 150 hz. Some of those bass blockers will make your speakers sound like a clock radio.

Cap I recommended above will work on 5.25" also.

ah, ok. well they have worked good for me in the past so i will run them this time. these speakers are tiny so i like being able to keep the bass off them. thanks though.

Yeah... the bass blockers are decent for a simple solution. I used some 600hz blockers on a buddy's 4x6 plate speakers (whose woofer is like a 3" cone)... and they sound awesome. Well, for such small speakers. I would make him some 6.5" kicks, but its a PITA for me.
