I'm looking @ an audioque hd3 sub.....

the come in either dual 1.5's, dual 2's, or dual 4's.....

I already looked on the Rockford site, and with a single sub with dual 2's or 4's...there isn't a way shown to a .5ohm load.

I want to wire my amp to a .5ohm load....

which sub load should I get? On Rockford site dual 1.5's aren't an option....so thats why I made this topic....

So, I was wondering if dual 1.5's cood go to .5ohm ?

THANKS!

also, if possible....can someone draw me up a quick wiring diagram on like paint or something if this is possible....

no...because the amp is rated @ 1500w @ 1ohm, right.

well, sundown's warranty covers .5ohm use....basically saying, it's ok to use the amp @ .5 ohm.

well, I want to use it @ .5ohm, giving almost 2000w.

But, I am new and I dont know what coil ohm loads will get me down to .5ohm.

So, for me to get to a .5ohm load with one sub and one amp, I will need a dual 1ohm sub? Correct?

You won't get 2000 watts out of that amp running it at .5 ohm, especially in a daily install. Impedence rise is a b*tch.

Yes, but even if their warrenty covers it running down to .5 ohms I would not do it. That is generally going to yield an increase in distortion that is not going to be what you want for daily driving, and if it does 1500 at one ohm, but only 2000 at a half ohm than the difference in power between .75 and .5 at that level is going to be miniscule in my opinion and not worth worrying about.

Im sure the amp is fine. Its the ussage thats the issue. I would never run any amp for street use at .5 ohms. I run my amp for COMPETITION at half ohm but its for SPL and I could not give a flying **** about distortion. Even one ohm is low but probally tollerable and if you are trying to get that kinda power out of an amp and you dont want to pay out your *** for it than the amp you are looking at is probally not a bad way to go.
