What are the best 12" subs @ $300???

What are the best pair of new 12" subs I can get for $300 ($350 maximum including tax+shipping)? I am looking for quality speakers that will last, and that (obviously) have a good kick to them. For sealed box, rap music, 60% spl / 40% sq. Tell me what you think! (Using Sony Xm2002GTR Amp: 250W RMS x 2 @ 2 ohms, 200W RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms)

Short answer is, there is no one 'best sub'

There are usually multiple subs that would work well for each application. It's all a matter of preferences.

A pair of RE 12's would be perfect for what your looking for.....They are DVC 4's and have a really good sound...plus they work great ported or sealed....

Since your amp does not produce much more power at 2 Ohms, I don't think it will make too much of a difference if you run 4 Ohms or 2 Ohms. Maybe just run two 4 Ohm subs to keep things a little cooler given this is a class A/B amp?

having said that....

I think 2 TC Sounds DB-500-S4 12" subs for $119 each shipped would be good choices with the power you have. Give them 1.2-1.5 cu ft per sub and stuff the enclosure with about 1.5lbs. per cu ft.
