I had gone up to Best Buy one afternoon to get some blank CD-Rs as BB had some on sale.
The BB that is easiest for me to get to is part of a pretty large strip mall bordered by two main roads. As I pulled into the shopping center's parking lot I had something playing pretty loud and didn't think to turn it down until I was fairly close to BB's front door.
There was a BB standing outside having a smoke and said employee happened to work in the car audio/video section of the store.
As I walked up to the doors he asked me if I had a system. I told him I had some stuff that was better than factory, if that was what he was asking. He then asked me if I had purchased any audio gear from BB because, and I quote, "We sell some slammin' stuff, man, and there's some pretty decent sales on currently."
I then proceeded to tell him that I was satisfied with the stuff I was running and didn't see any big expenditures in that department happening anytime soon.
The inevitable question of what brand of stuff I owned came out and I simply said, 'eXcelon HU and amps and DAT M6-series drivers."
A blank expression followed by, "Huh?!" comes from the BB employee.
So I told him that I had a Kenwood eXcelon deck and amps with a Diamond Audio subwoofer and components.
He looks at me and thinks for a minute then says, "We sell Kenwood stuff here. It's crap. The Sonys seem to be much more popular. Never heard of Diamond Audio...is that along the same lines as that garbage they sell at Wal-mart?"
I snickered and told him to have a nice afternoon then went in to buy my CD-Rs so I could get away from there and have a good laugh at his expense.
