Like the title says. Post some stupid things that you have heard before about systems (radios, speakers, wiring, amps, etc..) Post things that you just felt like smacking the person across the head for just saying that.

Today me and a group of friends were discussing in class about subwoofers and why my system is louder than some kid in school. I told them because of the box. Some dumbass kid then jumps into the conversation saying "yeah man because if you have 12"s or 15"s you have to put them into the boxes that come with those circle holes because bro 12"s and 15"s especially, those subs need the holes to breath". I was like wtf "since when do subs breath out of holes man? I made him feel so stupid I started telling him a bunch of shit how 12"s and 15"s dont need to be in boxes with holes (ported boxes) to "breath".//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif what an idiot

well a friend of mine had some walmart subs in a sealed enclosure powered by an xplode

well he couldnt get it to "be loud ( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif )" so I went and checked his wiring and since the xplode was a 2ch he had both subs running from one channel..NOT BRIDGED...well If ixed that and bridged it then I inspected the enclosure and he had knocked a hole into the back of the enclosure...I said you need to fix that..he said "no, no its ported"

oh once I got the subs working he said "IT sounds like your sub" I just laughed and then left...mind you I had a single W10GTi in a 1.75cf tuned to 27Hz running off my GTO601.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

"go to the flea market, they have some pretty good stuff. When youre shopping for a sub, push the cone in. if the cone goes up and down, its good. If the cone doesnt move, the sub sucks."
some dude in the radioshack parking lot

Lol, ernesto remember when chris blew his L7 and he said it was bcuz he had it sealed and not ported?
LOL oo yeah I forgot that one. Some kid there blew his L7 and he said it was because "there was too much air in the box since it was sealed so it caused the cone to freeze" so thats why the sub blew:laugh:

Just yesterday a kid who just got his car a few weeks ago walked up to me and said i ordered my system last night i was like cool wat did u get he said 2 12" sony xplods i said why he said cause there bad@ss i said o ok and just walked off.

1. At home, you need 100W on your mains to reach a comfortable volume.

2. AC power cables can improve your soundstage.

3. Electrons are directional.

4. With the state of current technology, there is no point to using inefficient vacuum tubes.

5. CD's are the best-sounding medium, period.

6. It's not good to put your speaker/power/RCA interconnects on the floor, you need to raise them off the floor to get good sound.

7. Cryo-treating your cables make them sound better, even when they return to room temperature.

8. Bi-wiring makes a sonic difference.

Shall I continue? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
