I just ordered the new alpine iva-w200 for 1199.99 $ canadian, so probably around 1000 $ US.

I second the Alpine W200.

Pioneer AVIC-D2 is cool too if you need built-in navi.

yeah i know, it *****. i was either gonna get the alpine, the pioneer d2, or the eclipse double din, i could get the alpine and the pioneer for the same price, but the eclipse was 300$ more, and the pioneer didn't have dvd playback, so i took the alpine

Be sure to write a review of the Alpine once its up and running. I am considering picking one up this summer

I personally don't see the point in paying extra $$$ for navigation. Unnecessary bling IMHO. But I'm sure some people would disagree.

i was going to go alpine, but i cant afford 3-4g's on a head unit. maybe when i am out of school. so for like 13ish i can get the 6600 when it comes out. dvd and cd drives, hard drive, navi, cant get much better for the money, plus it is a good quality unit.

for the price the jensen is not bad, has fairly good screen quality but as always you get what you pay for. I would say go for the eclipse AVN5435 you can get one on ebay for like $1100 or so, and you get the nav and everything. otherwise the avic-d1 and alpine are also good ways to go.

does anybody know how much it cost for the navigation unit that adds to the alpine? and also it says bluethooth ready, you probably need a unit for that too, right?
