What are some good 6x8 speakers?

With the oval speaker, you get a bit more cone area, so a tiny bit more sensitivity, and you don't need to make any mounting baffles. Unfortunately, the selection of 5x7/6x8 speakers is poor. Nonetheless, there are 2-3 options that are worth looking at. First, JL Audio C5-570 are certainly not bad. You can also try the C3-570. There exist a coaxial only version of these too. Next, there is the Image Dynamics XS-57. Finally, if you need a good coaxial speaker, Hybrid Audio Mirus 5x7 speaker is supposed to be good.

I am a fan of infinity.....and have had ford trucks for years. For the money, kappas can't be beat. However, there is a fine line on making them sound good....

1. Good clean power (a little more than the rms rating).

2. Proper adjustments....takes a while to get em tuned in.

I have walked away from mine, came back and had to readjust.,...(eq.,xovers, whatever the adjustments your HU has). After a little playing around.....they sound good and I leave it alone.

I have used components as well as coaxial....will be trying out 2 kappa 120.9w soon.

Right now, I have good sound coming from kappas : 2 682.9s in the front doors and 2 42.9s high in the rear pillars of an 03 F350....the stock 6x8 holes in the back are useless (they play behind the back seat). They are powered by a Polk MOMO 400.4.....100x4 @ 2 ohms.

So, long story short...... great budget choice...... should be Infinity kappas for 6x8 coax. or components. You can even use a plate (mylows idea) and go with the infinity 6.5 components if you want to.
