What are all true 3 way active crossover head units that are in the market now?

I just looked them up and it looks like their good for what I am looking for.

Is there anyone reading this that know how they are in real life? or know of anyothers?

double din is also good for me

From what I am understanding/been told, the double din Pioneers are basically the 80prs in double din form. The features change as you go up in model, but that is what they boil down to.

The double DINs offer less control over the sound than 80PRS. It's kind of in between what Clarion CZ702 offers and what 80PRS offers. It's still a welcome addition to a market that's been really lacking in double DIN sound quality tuning options.

80prs. It don't get any better under $1200.
That is way out of my budget haha

I think I'm going to pick on of the pioneers. The double din are very tempting, they are around the same price as the 80PRS and they are touch screen which gives an easier control.

Thanks guys, that was very helpful

i disagree. you couldn't pay me to use a Pioneer HU. lots of poor quality features isn't a recipe for a great HU. terrible menu structure, noise prone, etc.

the built-in crossovers in any active capable amp will outperform the ones Pioneer uses.

in a 3-way front, the tweeters don't need time alignment. any head unit with 6 channel time alignment will suffice.

Do you have any other HU with this needs for this price?

Would you say that it's better to just get an active crossover and not a built-in one?

Nothing touches the DEH-80PRS for SQ in the $250~$300 range, and you get the auto-tuning mic which can allow the casual tuner to get a good baseline tune very easily.

The new Pioneer AVH-x units support three-way network (active) mode. But they have fewer bands in the EQ and they do not have left-right EQ like 80PRS.

If you are willing to deal with the headache of tuning a DSP, then you can use almost any HU you want and just pick the features and user-interface you prefer.

That about sums it up.
