Killing the Thunderdome completely.

Everyone’s favorite diyma doesn’t allow the riff-raff political threads that are allowed here. All I ask is that members who spend hours a day here on one political thread posting insults help out the rest of the forum. If they have time to post dozens of posts a day in one political thread, they can post one reply to help out another member. Easy as that!

Don’t worry everyone, I’m reopening it. Don’t want to cause anymore undue stress and turmoil!

Bad admin here… Just to clarify, the off-topic “What song are you listening to” thread was closed because @RobGMN had a good idea to bring more traffic to the car audio sections by starting a new thread in the General Car Audio forum with a similar name. Why have 2 threads open on the exact same topic? I didn’t delete the old thread, just closed it, in an effort to boost traffic in the actual car audio forums. I think it’s more an issue that the Thunderdome has helped kill the rest of the site, rather than it being killed.

My point was, what are we supposed to respond to??? If some person ask how they are supposed to add amplifiers to a 2025 BMW, I don't have answers to that kind of question. So I don't respond. Regional events? I can't interact with anyone in Cali. Basic question is what most people will be able to respond to. There are not a lot of basic questions hitting the site. I am not trying to be rude at all, would love to help... but help who? The dome/lounge passes the time until someone post something basic.

Maybe start a Basic Questions thread?
Advanced Questions thread?
Expert Questions thread?

Just got back from my dad’s estate lawyer to dissolve his trust. We went thinking just give his death certificate so close out trust and sign paper. Basically the lawyer spent a hour trying to get me do $5000 living estate. Now we I guess do all the leg work since he won’t do anything on closing up the lose ends with my dad unless I pay up.

Well hey, you know we told you or whoever the wizard is that owns this or however that works that maybe you should ban some people, and you let some absolute trash people f with your vendors who gave you money and none of the posted rules were enforced like forever so idk nothing makes sense man. It's just durrr of course there's not serious people here

I mean many of us told you like f'ng years ago. I'm sure running a website under Google and during the times of crazy social media everywhere it's difficult to stay relevant and idk everything not even close but you lost whatever gold you had because you didn't protect it.

That just sounds like gaslighting to me. Like idk it seems to me there's not many people posting in the audio sections. I come here not often just to see and like there's not that much new stuff or activity at all. And people who were like me who were basically hobby vendors who love audio and sold services or whatever and also took time to respond to people FOR FREEEEEEEEEE out of LOVEEEEEE and whoever's absolute non-existent moderation of people's trash behavior in the audio sections ran serious people off. Whoever controls the site is to blame if there is blame to be had, end of story.

I mean I literally started my entire audio career of knowledge from this site for years and years, primarily this one. I went from some dumbass teenager designing boxes for myself into being able to call audio companies and being able to do deals with them if I wanted to, being allowed and asked to do designs directly for manufacturers well known in the audio world or for their customers. Nothing super major just designing boxes but sites like this can open the door for people who love audio to learn and get into sound and physics and the industry but not on a site like this. Not anymore, not really.
