What amp would you recommend for 2 Rockford Fosgate P2D2-12 12" Subs

Hello everyone.

So I've been told that many amps are rated much much higher than what they are actually capable of and I need a new amp to power these subs.

They are 2 Rockford Fosgate P2D2-12 12" Subs with a combined MAX power of 1600 Watts.

I was considering the BOSS Audio DST2500D DISRUPT 2500 Watt amp, but as I said I don't know if I can trust that it will be able to power these subs.

Here's the page with specs for the amp.

(DST2500D | Boss Audio Systems)

Thanks.

I wouldn't ever buy ANYTHING Made by Boss. Their specs are just laughable. C'mon, do you really think that thing puts out the CLAIMED 1500 watts RMS at four ohms, with only a 0.01% THD? Honestly that amp probably can't put out any more than 4-500 (At best) at two ohms. With your speakers you need an amp that will put out about 800 watts RMS at two ohms. What kind of budget are you working with for an amp?

if you get p3's i would go with a ppi S1300.1D or a ppi bk1300.1d
you also need to realize your going to be pushing 1200 watts so i hope you have a somewhat beefy either stock electrical or plan on putting an agm or h.o alternator in your car as well. i know alot of people will say thats overkill but they can go f themselves. to be honest i would never run 1000w without at least a 140a alternator and an agm battery. i dont like my voltage going into the 12's at all. what kind of car do you have?

I have a '99 Nissan Altima right now with a regular battery and alternator. I wasn't sure if I'd need to upgrade the alternator in this case.

The impedence of those subs is 2 ohms.

Also I'm not really sure what a 140a alternator or agm battery are. Will they cost just as much as the subs and amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
