What amp would you buy?

So I will be doing an audio upgrade this winter while the car is in storage. I will be running JL XR653CS (70 watts) in the doors, no rears and a single 8inch sub in a sealed box. The 8inch will most likely be a Kicker S8L5 (300watt) or the like. Would like an JL 8w7 just not enough depth in the box. Looking to keep most of the system hidden so I will want just one amp and sound quality is the goal not big SPL. The car is a C5 Vette. So what amp you buy?

what is your budget? what is the coil config on the sub? there was a PG Ti500.4 for sale in the classifieds that would be nice. also try a viper 550.6. bridge the first 4 channels for the comps, and the rear channels for the sub.

Hey ya, thanks for the reply. I'll spend $500 or so on the amp, just want nice clean SQ. The 8 inch sub is still a bit up in the air but it will be in the 300watt RMS range, love the JL's for the doors so they are going in.

he is recomending you an 8" sub. it's made by elemantal designs. i thought they quit making the A series?? i don't follow ED anymore really.

Yep. I think your right, although I do think they make an 8' sub, I'll go take a look at it.

yup, ED makes a 9kv2 8" sub rated at 150 watts RMS. Soundsplinter on the other hand makes a sweet looking eight that I will consider, have to check for depth issues, thanks for the tip.
