What amp to use on (2) SA-8 ???

I was looking at the DVC 2ohm subs. They would wire 2ohm PAR correct?
The BRUTUS amp puts out (it says) 1000 watts RMS @ 2ohm, so that would give each speaker 500RWM correct?

I am just wanting to have a little bump for everyday listening. I wish I could just use my current set-up and save all my money, but I have to have my backseat.
Get two of the DVC 4 ohm models so that you can wire to 1 ohm, then set the gain accordingly. This is called overhead; you won't have to turn up your amp as much, which means it is less likely to send a clipped signal to your subs and overwork the amp/subs

Don't get a Brutus or a HFi, those are overrated. They won't put out the power that the manufacturer claims. But the two amps that I linked will

I would definitely spend the extra cash on the Audiopipe over the HFi amplifiers from Hifonics...
These amplifier suggestions are if the subs are SVC4's, if they're DVC4's, then I'd have other suggestions.
The Hifonics BRz1200D would be a better suggestion than both the AP1500 and the HFi...

And the subs come in DVC4 and DVC2, I am suggesting two DVC4s so that he can wire down to 1 ohm...would be the most logical decision.

thx man! i went by what my local audio shop said last time and ended up with my JL stuff, but I have since seen there is better for cheaper. I love the amp, but the JL 12w6 is WAY overrated IMO!

So............. the Hifonics BRz1200D and (2) DVC 4ohm SA-8 will sound good?

I want it to hit hard. but also sound good with any type of music, due to I listen to a little rock and country as well as mainly hiphop and rap

florida... why would you down grade your amp..???!!! that 1000/1 is a great amp..
Trying to get a new set-up for the new truck, but trying to come out of pocket as least as I can. by selling the amp and downgrading some, I can save myself a few hundred dollars

You are aware you are a dumb ***, correct?

The BRZ line are Brutus amps... It would NOT be better than the Audiopipe.

12W6s are meant for SQ, not getting loud.
They were actually meant for SQ while still being able to give great output. Since you're a genious, or so it seems, we'll listen to you...

I'd recommend 1.5 ft^3 tuned to 33 Hz. Low tuning should help the sub dig low and the smallish box will allow it to play clean and keep up with the fast notes on rock music. Good luck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BRz is not the Brutus line, dumbfuck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif The BXi was the old Brutus line. The BRz is the new line that Hifonics released this year that is CEA compliant and will do rated power, just like the MB Quart Discus line. The HFi line replaced the Brutus line. Next time actually have your facts right before you call someone out, retard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

Are you disagreeing that the W6 is considered JL's best sounding sub? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

HIFONICS - Brutus BRZ Amplifiers
Meh, do not care what the name is... The HFi can be classified in the same category as the BXi because they both do not do rated power...on the other hand, the BRz does. And um, what was the point of your argument again?

That you're a ******' moron... Can't play it off now, and act all sly. Seriously, "learn up a bit." The BXi line was not as over rated as many people say... It's very well priced budget power...
