I am looking at maybe buying 2 SA-8 (400watts RMS each)

I am looking at the Hifonics HFi1500D (1000 RMS @ 2ohms)

Would this amp be alright for them, or should I go a little bigger?

What size ported enclosure are these best in?

They will be under the rear seat of a '99 Chevy 1500, would you go ported or sealed?

Yeah, but I can sell my JL amp and purchase a new lower grade amp and speakers to fit under my rear seats, with only having to add minimum cash.

Are the Hi-Fonics amps any good though? The BRUTUS seems to have good reviews from what I read for the most part

Ah.. Well how much did you say your trying to spend. You should have put a WTT ad. that 1000/1 for an amp that does similar power and a set of speakers.

That would be fine, but from all the posts I have seen on here, no one is selling an amp with the power I will need for the (2) SA-8

I am not 100% sure these are the subs I will be going with, but they seem likethey are the cheapest and best for the money at $85 each (reconned)

If you find someone on here wanting to trade then I am open to trades as well, that is why I posted May also trade in my F/S thread

The older Brutus stuff was decent budget equipment...

Look at an Audiopipe 1800D. Roughly same price, and will probably do better than the HFi series of Hifonics amps...

If the subs are dual 4 ohm, they will wire in parallel to 1 ohm. Those subs can certainly handle more than 400 each, so an extra couple hundred watts is fine for them if you wire a 1500W amp to them at 1 ohm

An idiot might feed them 750w each for daily. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I was looking at the DVC 2ohm subs. They would wire 2ohm PAR correct?

The BRUTUS amp puts out (it says) 1000 watts RMS @ 2ohm, so that would give each speaker 500RWM correct?

I am just wanting to have a little bump for everyday listening. I wish I could just use my current set-up and save all my money, but I have to have my backseat.

7.375" cut-out diameter (without gasket)

7.25" cut-out diameter (with gasket)

6.25" magnet diameter

We suggest 0.6 - 1 cube ported tuned to 30-40 hz based on your goals and preferences. Sealed can be utilized but is not optimal for these drivers.

From reading look like you need a 4 ohm amp.

if you series then it what 0 ohms lol.

I would definitely spend the extra cash on the Audiopipe over the HFi amplifiers from Hifonics...

These amplifier suggestions are if the subs are SVC4's, if they're DVC4's, then I'd have other suggestions.
