Hey guys, first time on a car audio forum but I've had a few systems in my time but nothing as quality as what I'm installing in my missus' car now. I've purchased an Eclipse SW8210 sub and I was looking to power it with an Alpine PDX-M6 but I'm wondering if I need a more powerful amp? I've heard of needing a more powerful amp than sub to get the most out of it and the sub is rated at 750w rms and the amp only 600w rms but I've heard it an be capable of up to 700w rms. should I lash out for the PDX-M12 (which seems overkill to me for one sub) or something different entirely?

What would you recommend, considering SQ is important to me but a bit of SPL is nice too?
