What amp for kicker CompR sub?

I made the decision to get the 12" kicker CompR sub, it has a 1000 watt peak power (500W RSM).

So I was wondering which kicker amp would be best to pair with it.

First, what made you come to that decision? Second... Many other amps for cheaper than kicker that will do the job. Dead set on those?
