What amp for Alpine Type-R

Just bought a 12" Alpine type-r dual 4 ohm(swr-1242d). Rms is 500 watts. It will be in a small sealed box. Now I need an amp , Any suggestions?? I like Hifonics amps but open to any suggestions.

Kicker zx1000.1, it does 1000@ 2 ohms. Your sub will be wired to approx. 2 ohms.

You're not going to see 1000w, especially with music. The R is underrated, and it's always good to have a bigger amp than needed. Just set the gain properly and you'll be fine.

I decided to change from two of these subs to only one. Anyways, its been said to me that you can wire these subs down to one ohm. Wouldnt that make the amp cheaper?

in most cases yes, but you ned to find a 1 ohm stable amp......hifonics amps are mostly or all 1 ohm stable
