Im currently running a ZX1000 to my 12" type X. But i want a little more so Im changing out my sub and amp.

Looks like I can get a killer deal on 15" type R dual 2's, but what amp you guys recommend? Would I notice a considerable difference in output and bass since I like low deep bass and hip hop?

A guy out here posted a Fosgate 1000bd for like 250 but would that hit harder then my current setup?

Or maybe AP 1500D or MBquart DSC1500?

thanks

Only 1 sub so it'd be a 1 ohm load to a 1 ohm capable amp.

Will a 1 ohm load at 1000rms drain the electrical more than a 2 ohm load at 1000rms?

My other option was to get a bigger amp for the Type X to push it a little harder, any recs?

Well when you say "Dual 2's" that implies your using more than one sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And I wouldn't feed 1kw to a type R, they're rated for 500w //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I definitely would not downgrade from a Type X to a Type R. Feed the X a little more power if you can. I'm sure you won't be happy downgrading, especially if you listen to rap/hip-hop. The X gets much lower than the R ever will...

Really?

I read alot on here about people saying the R's could probably take double the rated power if its clean. Before I bought my X, I was pushing my 1 12" type R with my Zx1000 for about a month before I sold it. I just seems like my X isn't as loud but hits the lowers alot better. I've been told the X is a power hungry sub, so I dont know.

Im just trying to stick with 1 sub but gain more output, and trying to find the easiest way to do it. I got an offer for the 15 for 100, so If i do that, Id have to change my amp. I can resell my X. What to do?

I think its in a 2.15 cube net ported to 33hz, I think the gross on the box was 2.65, dimensions are 28x14x17 3/4" mdf. 2" slot port width. the box does look big.

Arent their 15's rated at 750??

As to comparing the BD1000.1 and zx1000.1, they put out about the same power. Both should be right around 1200rms. The differnce may be that the Kicker does that amount at 2ohm, while the RF does it at 1ohm. So depending on which way you wire, you may or may not gain more power.

As far as the MBQ and the AP, both will do more than the Kicker and Fosgate, but both will do that number at 1ohm. Of the 4 companies, I would choose a RF amp if all things were equal. However, I would rather pay 160 for a new AP1500d than 250 for a used BD1000.1 if i was on a budget.

And Type-X's are better than R's. You will be increasing cone area tho, and R's do seem to get loud....Still, Id rather have the x

The 15 r will kill that type x 12 but the box will be twice as big or more. Space makes bass. the 15's have bigger coil than the tens and 12s and can take a 1500rms amp I put one in for a kid on an ap15001d and its still going a year later.
