What amp do i need?

Heres my setup. 12 inch audioque subs, kenwood kac-7205. The amp is only giving out 250 watts so like 125 per sub. They guy i got the subs from said they are "dual 4's wired parallel to 2 ohms" but other people have told they are 4 ohms. Can any one clear this up? So i would need a mono amp then right?

they are prolly dual 4 ohms ,so 2 wired together will either be 4 ohms or 1 ohm.and yes you need a mono block amp

To make it a little easier to actually know what ohms the subs are, so you can get the rt ohms stabled amplifier and get the most out of your subs - the enclosure, Pull them out, and write the model #, and all the info you see on the back of each sub, so you know what ohms load to run at.Post the info you get, on here if you can, so it can be determined a bit more

You dont necessarily need a mono block..You can get a 2 ch, 4 ch,amp and they can be bridged/ran mono also:santa:

hhmm i think im gona get a 1000 watt amp. I was trying to find a used alpine mrp m1000. what you got?
