What amp do I need to power 2 Kicker CVR104 CompVR 10" Car Subwoofers

And the listing says

"THIS IS HIGH POWERED AMPLIFIER AND SHOULD BE INSTALLED WITH A 1 FARAD OR HIGHER CAPACITOR!"

Would that cost me a lot more when I do installation?

ok, so i cant find a 1000 watt rms on ebay.
So you said it would be a bad thing to buy these?

Please explain what gain is and how you turn it down again.
You DO realize you can't just magically connect your amp to a factory cd player don't you? You're going to either need an aftermarket head unit or a line out converter. The gain is what matches the output level of the source unit to the amplifier.

Thats a great amp. The gain is a setting on the amp used to match the output from your headunit, since all headunits stock and aftermarket produce different outputs at different volumes you need to match it with the amp. It is not a volume knob.

Example. A aftermarket headunit says it has 4 volt outputs. At 30 our of 35 it produces 3 volts. So on the amp you would need to adjust the gain so it knows its getting 3 volts. Some gains have numbers etc. But most of the time it is best to use a multimeter or best case a O-scope to make sure your sending a clean signal.

Since you are using a stock headunit the output will be lower then an aftermarker which will require a higher gain setting. However since your amp will produce more power then your subs can handle by reducing the input signal you will reduce the output.

If you no math this should help. The signal is given from the headunit then multiplied (amplified) by x amount (setting on gain) to produce the output power.

So if you have a lower x your amp will put out less power. There are tutorials on how to set your gains on this site.

Get whatever amp you want.....

But 1500rms on 2 CVR 10's is too much, i don't think they can hold the power unless your very careful, get the 1000rms unless you think you can set the amps setting with care...

Capacitors are useless, do not get one.
