What do you need out of a head unit? Crossovers, EQ, time alignment?

A used CDA-9833 should be very good and will cost around $150 -- what I've seen them being sold for.

well i need something to make my system sound decent i am only a 18 years old so i havent heard great systems but i want a loud decent system so far i have 2 12's l7's plan on porting them pushing them with kicker 1500 and comps for the front off an amp so

i want something i can tweak the settings or w/e to blend the music

Look into the Alpine 9885. Has a HPF, BioLite display, and 3 4-volt pre-outs.

I have the 9885 and love it, its worth the extra $50 you didn't plan on spending.
