The wiring is overpriced...they're raking you over the coals with the power wire and RCA's.
not bad equipment but he's taking advantage of you like a **********. you are paying way to much for that stuff.
the only thing i see that is not overpriced is the headunit, and that is borderline of being overpriced. the subs are JL's lowest end. $400 for a 250 watt rms amp is bullshit. i bought an orion 2500D brand new which is 2500 watts rms for $550. the wiring is ridiculous too. power wire is power wire. you can get that wire for about $1 a foot at a welding supply shop. rca's go for about $20-30 a pair. $500 for a 4-channel amp is just nuts. there is stuff just as good, if not better then jl for way cheaper. learn how to install stuff, then buy online. also there are better comps for $450. he is even ripping you off on the dash kit and harness for christ sakes. where is this place? i'll drive down to battle creek and kick him in the nuts for ya.

Everything seems priced msrp, wich is fine if you wanna pay that BUT they are charging you TOO MUCH for the RCA'S, and the wiring, i notice there charging you for speaker wire twice? 30+50? and it seems like youre gettting ONE set of speakers and you are buying a 4 channel amp, and paying for the price of installing 3 pairs of speakers(150).
The second thing if youre spending that much money i would expect more than entry level subs.

You're getting *****. Pure and simple. Everything, EVERYTHING can be found cheaper either at another shop or online. You should tell them to cut you a deal since you are providing them with a good chunk of business.

Man you are getting taxed for wires, harnesses, dash kit, rcas- Any decent business would cut you a break or include those free of charge considering the large purchase. They actually charging u double of whst they cost on things they should not profit from

definitly go online to ebay and other online stores that sell that stuff brand new....you will cry when you see how much less it is to order from the internet, buy all the equpiment separatly, then just pay to have a shop install it for you..tell the shop to eat your **** too......
$180 for a 2 gauge wrieing kit? thats like 60-70 tops ussually
for the price of that 250/1 you get a 500/1 off ebay brand new...!!!!!!!

The head unit is priced $50 under MAP which is a good deal on an eclipse, authorized. That said, if you are willing to drop $3200 in a shop, you SHOULD get a break somewhere. If not on the equipment then get some kind of discount on labor, etc.

The shop is very legit but as stated well over priced
The main problem on the subs is also that they are going in a thunderform box that only has 4.5 inch depth and slots for two tens. I need to keep my back set and cargo area open for storage and other/passenger reasons. As far as putting the subs in a sealed bed; thats where the motorcycle and all the other fun stuff I am in go when I am not on them or abusing the hell out of them.
How about a T-2.100, 400rms( or 100x2 @ 4 ohms) for 600 bucks. Or T03-4.150 , 150x4 for 1700 dollars? JL isnt that badly overpriced, compared to some companies anyway. Note, im not saying TRU's are overpriced, i mean i wouldnt pay for it, but just becasue you cant justify paying for it doesnt mean its overpriced. Hell a Ferrari f430 will get slayed by that new zo6, is it overpriced though? Thats up to the buyer to decide what he finds more important, or what hes looking for in a car.
Back to the topic,that guy isnt disounting you on anything? Your getting you whole system installed by them and their making oyu pay retail, dont do it.
If they are a good shop, I would still go there for the install (over-priced or not). The install is very important. The shop should also be willing to install all the same gear even if you buy it from another store. I would suggest looking online.
I would also suggest avoiding JL stuff but if you want to get JL stuff... try this site (and there are even better like ebay)

You make valid points. But to pay retail on anything is the reason why people rather go online. I buy authorized and I dont pay retail. I suggest he shop around for more forgiving dealers or negotiate some. If any dealer is willing to give up a sale like that, rather than to accomodate some- he's not worth doing business with. As a positive sale will bring that customer back someday.
BTW a T4.100 also does 300+x 2 underated when bridged, making it a 600-700 rms capable amplifier. Thats actually priced decently IMO. Close to 10 years ago Kicker ZR amps were selling at about $1 per watt too, and although a solid amplifier nothing special to the 1kw a/b I have now that I payed for near half that price of my ZR1000. But that regulated Jl does just that 250rms, nothing more nothing less- i find $00 too much when he could be driving at least 400rms from a high end amp maker to his subs for the same $$.
