a pair of new shoes

not too overwhelming for a college kid, right?

of those, i got:

season 2 of Entourage... would have been completely pointless if i hadn't already seen season 1. luckily i have.

i should have expected this. my mom never gets me anything, ever. i hope i don't sound greedy, but i put some thought into my gifts for my mom. and after we opened our presents, my mom said "well, its a small christmas, you guys really didn't ask for much"

i've gotten used to buying everything i want on my own, so i'll probably go buy the stuff i didn't get, then get an earful from my mom about how i'm spending my money unwisely.

holy crap man, i wish i still got gifts, now that im older i buy all the gifts and get minute gifts, like homemade stuff from my niece and nephews, all though this year i did get some extra nice armani house slippers and some cologne...

christmas is only about family for me these days any ways..

one of the best lessons in life i have learned is that,

parents can be just as phuked up as anyone else, so dont expect them to do better than the dicks you hate, (just because they r ure parents)

seriously, to keep expecting them to be different is just a waste of your time, accept that that IS the way they are and look elsewhere for better realationships/friendships. i have much better friendships with people that i ever did with either of my parents.

Be thankful for what you have, you are getting a college education, and you have a family that remembers you on the holidays. I got a denim shirt that was like 4 sizes to big for me from my rich uncle and some cologne samples that are free. Maybe I just misunderstood your mood by the way I read it, or you are greedy, it's not my place to decide. It could have been worse though man, at least you didn't get a call from the hospital that one of your relatives was in a car accident and was about to be taken of life support, like a friend of mine got. Not trying to sound high and mighty and what not, but there are terrible things that happen in this world everyday so we all have a lot to be thankful for no matter how f****d up our situation is.
