I got to be honest, I am a fairly tastless individual and even I dont find that one funny. Cancer is far to real to be a punchline IMO

To the OP, i have to agree with everyone saying at least you got something. And yes you are coming off as a greedy, whiny little b*tch. College you said? Jeeze, whats happening to america.

This year I asked for a bike helmet. Because I fell on my last one and cracked it in half (along with my nose). I wasn't asking for a lot, just something that would really help me out. When I came home for the holidays I was elated to see I got what I really wanted, AND things I didn't even ask for. Every christmas I end up giving 5-10x as much as I receive. I count myself lucky that I can afford to do this for other people. Put yourself in their shoes and see someone so generous as to give without expecting in return. I'd much rather give than receive, and yet it's always fun to see those you care about, also care about you enough that they go out of their way to find and buy something they think you'll want. Thats really pretty special I think.

So I hate it when people blow it way out and start expecting things. Its when you expect things that you get disappointed. Maybe you were always given something and you're used to it, but try to see the world from someone else's point of view, because to the rest of the world, you are not the center of it. And way to go making your mom feel bad about slacking on the shopping.

Not much, but I was satisfied. Im just glad I got to see all my family. We had a lot of loss this year.

Actually I got pretty much nothing for the from ages 8 to 16 (when my mom became a single parent) She couldn't afford much but we were happy as hell for what we did get. I guess growing up poor makes you appreciate things more. And now that we're all doing good for ourselves, I will admit, christmas is a little better. But to say it was a shitty christmas because you gave more than you got is wrong. If that's the case I should be saying that too. I got my mom a pair of 1/2 carat diamond earrings and a charm for her necklace, and my step-pop a bocsh hammerdrill. You wanna know what I got?
