what a component set?

what is a component and what is its purpose

i have 61/2" splits in the front and 6x9 in the back

my next upgrade will be an amp to run it would it be wise to get a component set because u guys seem to think they are good and what is a good brand of component set or am i way of the trak and if so can someone help me out

What do you mean by 6 1/2" splits ? Components are just seperate speakers. A coaxial speaker has the tweeter physically mounted to the woofer. Components are a seperate tweeter and woofer. Most come with seperate crossover networks. And some component sets are three way.
