what 8" midrange?

just found some Jl Audio ZR's i could feed them 100 rms @ 4 ohms

anyone use these? there actually not that expensive

or what ID mid does everyone talk about?

What bandwidth are you wanting them to play? If you're trying to run a 2-way setup with 8" mids, you'll be hard pressed to do it well without some horns. With an 8" mid you're limited to about 1.25-1.5khz, which make finding a tweet to match very difficult(hence the need for horns).

An 8" midrange would be even too much at home, perfectly on-axis...I have 6.5's playing full range, anything above that and it'd get ugly...

Then again, if the words "keeping up" are involved, chances are you aren't too concerned about staging accuracy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

those are 8 ohms tho ?

how do you amp them correct power at 8 ohm value ?

side note -

I have been verry much thinking of the 8" powerbass mid woofers

I have been finding a fiew sets at my local crap car audio stores

for about $40 each one. verry tempted in them.

I forget exactly - but the frequency response of them is wide as heck.

the amp just runs @ 8 ohms.

unless u have say 2 mids per door, and u can wire both 8 ohm mids for a 4 ohm load on your amp

either way those eminence will get loud, as will B&C, selenium, etc
