What 12" subs? Help me out.

Okay, I was running 3 8" SA 8s off of a Lanzar Opti2k.

I now have a Sundown SAZ 3k, which means massive powah. I was planning to do a 4th order which would take up my whole trunk, with 4 SA 8s in it on this amp...

But I think I can get louder if I run a pair of 12s in a normal ported box instead. Its not set in stone yet, but Im really considering it.

So I need a pair of 12s that can handle the 3k+ from the Sundown. I want to retain some SQ if its possible, I dont want some loose *** sub thats loud but sounds like crap.

Budget for both.. 350-400$.

the sa's would love that 3k daily. get them id d4 and wire it down to .66.
If I can fit them, Im going to.

Going to do some measuring tomorrow, maybe even build a scale model box.

Heres a question. Is it OK to use polyfill in a ported box? Im just shy of the 1.25 recommended and with it this may work.

EDIT- Did some searching, and it seems that it IS okay to use polyfill in a ported box, just make sure to adhere/staple it to the inside of the box and use the stuff that comes in sheets, not the loose stuff.

This may work. That will for sure give me the airspace I need.

Now I just have to figure out something for the port... possibly aeros? Cant fit internal port, no way in hell.

You could try alpine type x's. I heard 2 10's the other day and they had lots of power and quality. I know not everyone likes alpine.

Brahmas are nice. I have a 10" Mk1. Just a single 10 was enough for me.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
