What 10’s require small ported?

1 cube is a smaller box 10 to me. There are some that take smaller boxes than 1 cube, or I’ve seen them before, but less often.

Been very busy lately, I should be back to normal before too long.

Also want to add that I have tried a couple type R’s in the past and have had the surround separate from the cone. Not sure if it was just bad subs but what are the chances?

Nothing wrong with alpine subs. I like them. They’re a little more pricey now than when I ran them, but I metered one of their single 12s at 144.6 on 700 watts back when I was competing.

I've only had one that I bought at a pawn shop for $100 and really liked the sound quality. It sounds like you should steer clear of them though.

Now I would argue with you a little there. W6 was one of my favorite subs of all time. Not quite as loud but I loved the sound of my 12w6. Depends on the objective I suppose. W6 is not a sub that will win many competitions though.

I think the W6 that I had was wore out. The type R was barely used. My favorite subs these days are Deaf Bonce, but I only have room for 8's. Just to let everybody know, Deaf Bonce is coming out with a couple of 8" subs. I think in the 800-1,000 watt rms range.

My guy tells me that they are coming out with a 1,000 watt rms 8" sub like this one. They are actually going after Cosmic audio for stealing the design.

I have looked at those. The only reason I haven’t bought a couple is because my amp is only 1400 rms, so I’m sitting right in no mans land between too much for 1 and not enough for 2.

Running 8's is funny. People always kind of shrug them off and doubt my score until I give them a demo. Then the words that I usually hear are "that's sick", "that shitt is crazy", and "that is just stupid loud".

W7 was never accepted around here. The XFL I didn’t know about until fairly recently.
