I have been wanting to get something else for my sub stage like a 15 or 18 fiq, but I just got an idea and thought I would ask you guys if it might be better...

current setup is 2 10" rsd in their own chambers (2cuft @24) running on 1200+wrms

my idea is that since I already have another amp, would it be worth the money to just buy two more rsd10d, cut two more holes in my existing box, mount magnet out to preserve my tuning and airspace, wire them to one ohm and then series the 2 pairs (final load 2ohm) to my strapped pa bb1250.1's to get >2000wrms?

running out for 30ish minutes, so I'll get back to responses in a bit.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

try it out and see?
I was thinking it would be nice to try, but if I wanted to go back to two then I would have to build another box.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

any other input?

Is this a serious question? Are you seriously asking if you can add more drivers to your existing enclosure without it affecting tuning, simply because you will invert them to preserve interior space?

I wish it was that easy. If you want to double the number of subs in your system, you either need twice the box you have now, change it to sealed (which requires half the enclosure volume), or, god forbid, mount the new woofers isobaric (not recommended).

no...I was wondering if it was feasible to simply add more cone area....I knew the enclosure size could remain the same if I inverted the drivers, but I have not yet looked at what would happen to the response curve by effectively cutting enclosure volume per driver in half.

I am currently above the top end of the recommended enclosure size for the drivers. going to 1cube/driver or 2 drivers in 2cubes is what I am looking at.

I guess Im confused. lol Each 10 is in its own 2 cube chamber? I assumed that was 2 cubes for the pair, not each.

yes...total box is 4 cubes....walled in the center to make 2-2cube boxes and both chambers are tuned ~24hz

edit: and the above is after port and one sub displacement

Wow that's a huge box for two 10's. Without looking up driver specs cuz Im lazy... I say yes, squeeze a couple more in there.
I've got them.. Give me a second

From a calc I just did, It looks like even tuned around 24hz I will get a peak around 52 hertz and have a -3db of 32hz instead of the current 22hz.(box output of course)

Looks as if I would be at the recommended spl enclosure:D

You ever do it?
I can get 4 of them for 160 and i might run them all sealed off 1100 watts.

Sound quality good on them?

Kevin
I did not...After some calculation and graphs, I decided it was not what I was looking for.

I already have 2 of them in that enclosure, and they sound very good.

I am considering now doing a fiq15 in 8-10 cubes, adding another later.
