Wha the Hell Does It Take To Get Loud In An Astro?

Thing has a TON of cabin space. Peaks at 56hz. Honestly I'm more concerned about sound quality and loudness to the ear than SPL numbers, but I would like to do 141+ under 45hz.

Right not the 2 12's I have sound much, much, louder with the ports and subs facing backwards.

I'm running 1200 rms to the pair- 4 cubes@28-29hz.

It's getting there, but..... I want more.

Anybody know of any small non-walled builds in an astro and they're numbers?

It shouldn't be that hard to do 141+ with a pair of 12s. The problem is going to be getting enough power to them and designing a box. I'm not really familiar with the Lanzar subs but have heard that they get pretty loud. If they can handle more power, definitely start there. If they can't, start with some subs that can handle 1500+ RMS (each) and be sure to feed them a clean 1500+ (each)...

Otherwise you have to do it with cone area and increase the number of subs. I wouldn't imagine you needing more than 4 mid-grade 12's to get 141+ in an astro....

Oh I think I may be at 140 right now, but at 50-56hz. I got metered last month with an old prefab box at 136 on test tones. I know the new box gets much, much louder- has to be 5-6db louder.

The subs could take double the power I have on them now though, we'll see.

I just got another 15 I got on here to try out.... Not looking good, but I'll wait and see.

**** 2 -18's????? I don't think that big is in the cards- work truck and daily driver, plus i'm not 19 anymore. 4-12's or Two 15's in 6-7 cubes is about as big as I would want to go.
